Yesterday’s run. I use an app called ZOMBIES, RUN, which makes the running experience more interesting: there’s actors, a plot line, and you occasionally get chased by the Walking Dead (in addition to your regular iTunes playlist). My goal for the rest of May is to keep burning fat, get my weight down (really need to buy a new scale; the kids destroyed our old one), and get myself ready for a brutal June. I’m doing RUN FOR YOUR LIVES New England the end of July.
In April of 2011, I was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. I was a mess: both depressed and weighing over 250 pounds (I stopped checking my weight at 251, so who knows what the actual number was; somewhere north of there). I spent the next almost two years struggling to maintain my sobriety and lower my weight; after inpatient rehabilitation, I have been sober since February 28th, 2013. I’ve also been running hard, and that’s what I’ll be recording in this blog: my progress, my workouts, my thoughts, and my goals.
